Harry Tincknell racing hectic schedule towards the end of 2013

Harry Tincknell racing Brands Hatch May 2013After securing fifth in the European Formula 3 standings, you might have thought Harry Tincknell would take a well-earned break. No such thought was on the rising star’s mind as he recently launched into a hectic schedule.

First up the British star was out of luck in the Macau Grand Prix despite showing very strong speed that should have put him among the leading contenders. You can read the full story here.

Next up Harry took on his debut in the MRF Challenge supporting the Indian Grand Prix before moving on a dream two-day test with the Audi DTM team at the Monteblanco circuit in Spain.
 
He was one of the eight young talents tested by the Ingolstadt manufacturer as it assesses potential stars of the future for the DTM – the German touring car series that is arguably the world’s most competitive series outside Formula 1. You can read the full Audi test story here.

Most recently, Harry Tincknell battled to a podium finish in the second round of the MRF Challenge supporting the Bahrain 6 Hours round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. You can read the full story here.

Harry Tincknell claims fifth in F3 rankings

Harry-Tincknell-Monza-2013In the season finale at Hockenheim over the weekend, Harry Tincknell confirmed himself as one of the leading up-and-coming talents in motorsport by wrapping up fifth position in the hotly-contested FIA Formula 3 European Championship in the finale at Hockenheim.

Tincknell finished the season fifth in the championship, the leading scorer from the Carlin team and also the top-placed driver using Volkswagen power.

The increase in competitiveness bodes well for next month’s Macau Grand Prix.

Strong fourth at the Nurburgring for Harry Tincknell

Harry-Tincknell-Monza-2013With the return of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship this weekend, Carlin Motorsport driver Harry Tincknell was in action at the Nurburgring.

Harry stormed from ninth on the grid to finish fourth in the final race, leaving him holding his fifth place overall in this year’s championship.

Harry Tincknell emerges with top-five from tough weekend

Harry-TincknellFIA Formula 3 European Championship race winner Harry Tincknell had a tough weekend in the third round of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship series at Hockenheim. But he ended it with blistering pace that shows he will be a contender when he returns to the German circuit in
October, as well as a strong fifth-place finish.

Harry Tincknell wins Silverstone F3 thriller

Harry-Tincknell-Wins-at-Silverstone-F3-2013Harry Tincknell scored an emotional win in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship at Silverstone. It was the first time the 21-year-old from Devon has scored maximum points in the championship, becoming the first Briton to win a round of the FIA F3 European Championship since ex-Lotus Formula 1 driver and Jaguar Le Mans winner Johnny Dumfries in the early eighties!

Harry Tincknell Third in European Championship Standings

Harry-Tincknell-Monza-2013Harry Tincknell emerged from the Autodromo di Monza in 3rd place in the FIA European Formula Three Championship points table after a dramatic opening weekend to the season, which held between Friday 22 - Sunday 24 March. The final two races of the weekend took place in treacherous conditions.

Harry Tincknell third fastest overall in first Euro F3 test days

The first official test days for the upcoming FIA Formula 3 European Championships were held last week on the 8 & 9 March in Barcelona.

Harry Tincknell finished third fastest overall (the final result combining test times from the two days).

“We had a big test program to go through in Barcelona and it was definitely a positive test. It’s hard to know where you are until the first race but it was certainly encouraging to be third fastest overall over the two days.”

“The team has been working to improve the car and we got through our program well. It will be interesting to see what happens in Monza but I think we’ve made good progress and we’ll all be working hard between now and next weekend to find further improvements.”

 

The next testing will be held in Monza on 18 & 19 March.
